A long old day today. Just over 37km of up and down trudging. Breakfast was delightful at a little bar but rudely interrupted by the noisiest kitten I’ve ever met. It shouted at me until I handed over some croissant.

The Bar from Nowhere

Mid morning coffee was at a surreal little cafe which you can just make out in this picture. If you ever remember that Carry-On film about the French foreign legion there is a bit where the exhausted and thirsty troops trudge past a hotel because they think it is a mirage. This was a bit like that. 3km down a dirt track, 6km to the next town, this chap had set up a little business. And it was a really nice stop next to vineyards and asparagus fields.

Viana

Have ended up in a town called Viana. One can tell that the Easter rush is over as the number of pilgrims has plummeted. I have again spurned the delights of a hostel and am staying in a rather nice hotel. However I am going to do the pilgrim dinner so that bit of the experience is at least authentic.
